More to come as time permits….

Very curious, but what's the work involved getting picture 4 scales to picture 5 scales? Specifically what grit got it to this point and how do the grits progress manually or on machine and when does any wood polish/conditioner come into play? My wood fiddleback are so perfectly finished smooth, just wondered how they got that way.

Andy could say for sure but...
Pic 4 looks like it still has 36grit scratches in it. I believe his next progression is to 220grit. He then hands it off to me and Cody to take it the rest of the way w/ hand sanding on Tuesday & Wednesday.

Thursday, Andy will put the finish grinds on the knives and he will the get Allen to do the guards. Once Allen is done withe the guards Allen will hand them back over to me. I will the detail the knives and get them ready for photos(here is where I put the Howard's Feed & Wax on them).

I will take a pic of how I receive the next one & exactly how it looks when I am finished sanding.

I'll take the yellow handle mini-muck -- too soon???

Hey, being new to Kansas City I was having a cup of coffee at the corner shop near the house. I took a sip and called the Barista over and said, "This coffee tastes like mud!" She, looked confused and said, "Of course, it's fresh ground."

Thanks for sharing the process and pictures!

The belt progression for shaping, at least for Andy, is 36g, 80g, then 120g. Then to a slack belt with a scalloped 220g, then back to the wheels with the 220g. Then off to Phil and Cody.
