Behind The Scenes @ Fiddleback Forge

Just a friendly reminder these knives are for “Preview” not “Pre-sale”.

This weeks’ BTS started on Friday.

Couple of the usual suspects stopped by for a few. Can you imagine trying to carry on a conversation over the phone w/ these fellas in the background. I’m not sure why Kyle is so giddy.

Hopefully this pic makes it’s way into an upcoming Knives Illustrated.

There are several pics of Andy shaping handles for the same article. I’m not sure what if any they will chose or if these are the same ones I emailed them this morning.

More to comes as time permits.

Thanks for looking

I know you guys have better hands than me but every time I see a pic of a knife in contact with a belt, I remember how many things have flown through my basement ;)

Hey, do I receive any royalties on that Bushfinger? :D
i'll split mine w/ you.

Allen had one go into the top of his foot while we were at the old shop.. That's about the only instance in all the blades that have come through the forge.

We are more worried about our hands going into the grinder.

Wire wheels are good to grab edges and fling things :)

i concur. The buffer we have here is probably tied w/ the table saw for the most dangerous equipment to operate here

Raise your hand if you're rockin' Redwings.

What knife is in Andy's back pocket, does he usually carry the same one or does he switch it out, who carries a wallet(?) with zipper, and do we have an over/under on when said pocket gives out entirely?

SO MANY QUESTIONS.

The dude in the left foreground is none other than our very own Preston ( Uncle P).

Never thought those vintage Pils glasses would be used to sip 98 pt Bourbon. :jerkit:

Thats Uncle P. AND, I have been wearing these pants in the shop since the beginning of my knifemaking. They've made it ten years. If they give out, its likely because of carrying a knife clipped right there. That wallet has been a good one, but its wearing out now. Always liked the zipper. The knife is a Shaman. It had a bit of chip out around the bullseye hole. I usually carry a pretty dud until someone buys it from me for the used price, or I give it to some kid. I like this one a lot, but one of the softball coaches I coach with has asked about it a couple of times. Likely will need a new dud soon.

Ha. The only glass glasses we have. AND, maybe this is just because I'm a burbon newb, but they really get the scent to your nose well. I like drinking it out of them.

Donuts + bourbon. You guys really know how to get a morning started right!

Hell yes!

Others have noted but I did want to respond. Those redwings are mine. I was able to shift some work around and visit the shop last Friday.
It was good to see everyone, including Southern Gent (I am still trying to work out getting to your place May 5-7).

And No, I did not partake in the tasting - though Bourbon is my weakness. Now when you pair that Bourbon with the donut, well that just spoke to the redneck in me and I almost caved.

The new donut and bourbon tasting station looks great.

I see a couple of the new nessmuks in there.
