This BTS actually started last Friday morning. This is what it looks like from my desk as I write the thread. For those that could care less...it’s only a couple pics :0

Here the knives are sorted into the “Group” Shots as I write the description & photo them.

Allen took those pretty sheets & did this too them.

Here Allen is teaching Chris how to scribe the centerline. Andy will use that line as a reference as he is grinding the blade.
IMG_5875-vi.jpg

First you must know the actual thickness of the blade

Divide by 2 and you have your setting for the height gauge

Great seeing some custom shop production knives in process!!

Chris D:D

Great job Phillip! It looks like the full smorgasbord of handle materials this week with nice woods, G10, micarta, and burlap. Something for every taste. I like the spine and/or handle end views that provide a good clue about steel thickness, tapered or SFT, pinstripe colors.

Thanks,

Phil

Hey Phillip, what's the thickness on the doublemint Woodsman? Looks like it's the same thickness as the Scorpian. The Woodsman would make an awesome kitchen knife in 3/32, and if it were cpm154. Wow!

PS: I know this one isn't cpm154, and I know there is one in the pipeline from last week's photos.:D

if i followed that correctly....it was a Handyman offered last week.

edit to add

i'll have to follow up on the inquires tomorrow as I am already at home.

Can't wait to see the dark grey burlap on a knife. Is that a new color for Fiddleback? Dark grey burlap over a blue pinstripe with a black liner.....hmmmm. :D
