Many read the hard core survival situation that our beloved Southern Gent Southern Gent endured recently. However until now not much was known about the difficult "find and rescue team” mission that happened behind the scene. FART is we in the know call it. I received a distress signal about 09:00. I immediately grabbed my survival back and my trusty @Fiddleback Forge Kephart. I knew going into this, that there was a chance I wouldn't return home. But Justen was my brother and I knew with his skills he could possibly survive a few days out in the wild but would need to be rescued. There were other helping but only I could do it.

Years ago in the far east I trained high up in the vast Himalayan mountains as a survival ninja. I was legend, known as "Big Deal Dragon". The rest is history

I had out on foot because the doctor said I can't drive due to the recent Achilles surgery. I was still in a boot brace. This was hard, but Justen needed me. Follow the pics to see how the story unfolded.

I searched the cave


I checked the creek no sign of Justen (or Phillip)


there were mountain lion sign everywhere


at first I thought the worst that he'd been eaten


found Justen's survival blanket


getting dark in the wilderness, made shelter


prep fire, it was getting down to -40*


a whole cord of firewood batoned


making curls so fast they combusted

Haha!! The creek part got me laughing out loud while making dinner.
 
Thank you Bmurray Bmurray and thank you FART for your assistance. A heroic effort you all put forth and it was great getting to see all of you again, even though under such dire circumstances. In recognition of your outstanding achievements and honorable endeavors I would like to bequeath unto FART this new beacon, so that you may further assist those in need.

That’s Sothern Gent. The one you made me I used for fire tender. It burned like it was made by a little devil.
