I am quite interested in seeing the RAT knife manufacturing area. I would be extremely pleased to see a video or series of photo’s that would show the process of developing your quality products. Does this already exist? If so, could you direct me?
Is this of interest to any one else?
 
Our manufacturing is not that much different than anyone else but Shon does have some proprietary processes that others are not doing in regards to making a process easier, more quality and less time to do. I think he plans to keep it that way too, so I doubt we will be making any videos ;)

As for our designs, most of them start out from someone else saying I need a knife that will do___________ (fill in the blank). For example, I'm quite sure you will eventually see some new knives coming out that relate to the Colombian Junglas. (BTW: the word "eventually" means there is NO TIMELINE). There have also been a lot of influence on our line by federal agents and overseas operators. And some of our stuff is a collaborative effort, such as the new RAT Pack (or whatever we're gonna call that thing). Then we have some new ideas that haven't even come out yet. One is a piece of survival gear that Shon and us designed over a year ago. Some day we will get it to market. RAT is constantly evolving. I think if we made a video it would be out-dated by the time we were through editing it. ;)

But damn, I start this thread out of curiosity and now you’ve left me more curious as to what is to come. “Perpetual sales man”:D:D
 
Many of our processes are in fact proprietary.... but, I will try and get some pics up for you all to see sometime next week. Stay tuned.....;)

But seriously, I'd love to see some pics of the Rowen elves making goodies.

The manufacturing nerd in me wants to see Shons 5S standards and the results of his latest round of kazen events.

I grew up in Eastern Idaho and was excited when I first learned that RAT knives were made by Rowen in I.F. I've wondered if a tour of the non-top secret areas is possible when I'm in town. :o

I'd love to see a huge stack of RATs of all sizes and colors waiting for their new owners.
 
You guys have hit the sweet spot for sure ...... I thought I could survive with an RC-4 ....count is now 7 and still hungry for more. Seems that they ambush my thought process and I guess that is what we would not be allowed to see ;)
 
are the fire kits made by rowen as well? i too would like to see some pics of rats being produced.
