Ordered my first non production folder 2 days ago. Don't know if it would be called a custom or a midtech. Anyways, it's a Peter Marzitelli Tork 2. I ran across it on accident while searching for info on another maker. After lookng into Marzitelli I found that he takes inspiration for some of his designs from dinosaurs. That in itself doesn't do much for me but his designs are pretty damn good. Saw this one and just fell in love. It's S30V, Ti liners/bolsters/clip, CF scales with reddish brown liners. Peter also hasn't made this design since around 2004 or 5. Fit and finish on this thing is unreal, real attention to detail. One of the smoothest openers I've ever felt and the groove opening is pretty neat. Works very well.

Oh well, enough babbling, here's what you came in here for, the pics aren't the best but rain all day today so no natural light. Had to go real grainy with the last one just to show the two tone blade right:

Paid a pretty penny for it, but less than I was going to with an ordered knife, and no wait time! So, whadd'ya think?

Maybe due to the 9 screws holding this beast together! I'm fine with extreme though.

Beautiful blade. How do you deploy, no thumb hole or stud?

It appears that the fuller running down the blade would be used to open it. Great looking knife BF.

That's a pretty nice blade. How big is she? I also dig the fuller opener. That's very unique. Not many knives can be really unique and also really good looking. Good score man!

Thanks! The blade is 3 1/4" and oal is About 7 1/2". I was dubious about the fuller manipulation but after a little getting used to it's just as smooth as a thumb stud, and looks a heck of a lot better.

I like it! It has character, which is something we could use more of these days. I actually thought it was called a pterosaur till I read it again! Sweet find BigFatts!

Thanks, I emailed him about possibly doing one of his current models but the email came back as a delivery failure. I hope he's still in business.

I like how he puts a thin liner under the entirety of the bolster and scales. Overkill, but awesome. Some of the toughest liner locking folders I've ever handled and owned.

Interesting blade design; has some extra notches cut into the spine/fuller/tang. I guess that's the dinosaur emerging. No problem with that.
I like the cutout on the carbon-fiber for gripping...a lot.
If you love it, then great. Smooth and functional is where it's at.
I like some designs that make folks scratch their heads. Heck, I just bought a Spyderco TUFF and an Orange Dodo. What do I know? :)
I'm happy you like it. That's the important part.

The Riddle Of The Dinosaur

Bert Leston Taylor

Behold the mighty dinosaur,
Famous in prehistoric lore,
Not only for his weight and length,
But for his intellectual strength.
You will observe by these remains
The creature had two sets of brains,
The one in his head, the usual place,
The other at his spinal base.
Thus he could reason a priori
As well as a posteriori.
No problem bothered him a bit,
He made both head and tail of it.
So wise he was
So wise and solemn
Each thought filled just a spinal column.
If one brain found the pressure strong,
It passed a few ideas along.
It something slipped the forward mind
’Twas rescued by the one behind.
And if in error he was caught
He had a saving afterthought.
As he thought twice before he spoke
He had no judgment to revoke.
For he could think without congestion
Upon both sides of every question.
O gaze upon this noble beast,
Defunct ten million years at least.

I don't know about anyone else but I see the love child of Shane Seibert (sp?) - blade, and Bob Terzuola - handle. Looks bada$$ though. Great acquisition.
