I was viewing this forum recently looking at tomahawks and the axe and hatchet heads. I liked what I saw so was keeping my eyes open for something along that line. I found this hatchet today at the flea market. It has a maker name I have not heard of and an Internet search did not find anything. I also searched this forum for Beighley and found nothing. Have the members seen this maker before and what can you tell me about them? Thanks in advance for the responses.

Further research in the 'net leads me to think this head was made by GERMANTOWN TOOL WORKS, PHILADELPHIA and the retailer was BEIGHLEY H&T CO. (Hardware & Tool ?). Thanks.

That was my first guess.

That's a nice hatchet. So many of those have severely worn toes. That one's pretty fresh.
