Being tempted again by a BK2...

I had previously owned and traded out of a BK2 a couple years ago, I liked the knife, but didn't care for the scales or sheath, and I was unwilling to spend any additional money on it, thankfully I was able to get all my money back...

Still, I miss that brute of a knife, it calls to my inner caveman...

On Sunday I stopped in at Kittery Trading Post, and what did I spy in the used knife case?

A second-gen BK2!......
With brown micarta scales....
And a green kydex taco sheath with a belt clip (it had a small rhino logo on the sheath)

I asked to check it out, the micarta scales definitely improved the ergos and balance, and the sheath was nice and compact (or would be when the belt clip is removed)

The knife itself looked unused, and even appeared to have the factory edge.

The asking price? $125

I figure that's fair considering the micarta scales and aftermarket sheath, so I put it on 7 day hold to mull my options and research some more

I'm definitely tempted...

To buy that whole package brand new would cost you at least $150. I would do it, and I already have a 2.

Hey, where are you located? I'm across the bridge from KTP in NH....they had a 9 with micarta in there a few weks ago used for a reasonable price. If the 2 is calling, tho, get one. Then bring it to the NE gathering in October!

Hello Mactech, sound like a fair price.
I'm in NH and yes try to make the NE gathering over here in oct.

Snag it ASAP! (as if anyone here is likely to say differently - "no, don't get a new Becker" - such words have never been breathed in these parts)

Just put it on 60 day layaway, mainly to lock it in and make sure it doesn't get purchased out from under me, also, KTP is ending knife layaways due to abuse of the system

It has brown micarta scales, and an AZwerke taco sheath with modular belt clip

So, who was the BF Beckerhead who owned this last? Look familiar to anyone?

I think I saw that setup a coupla weeks ago. Wasn't mine, tho. Good deal, I'd say. If it was a 'head's knife, they sure didn't use it like a Beckerhead!
