So today I got fed up and decided to give cabin fever the middle finger and go for a hike... I decided to pretty much just go west and figure out where i wanted to go from there... I ended up in the Evergreen, CO area, hiking in O'Fallon Park. I would guess I probably did between 1 and 1.5 miles, just wandering around pretty much since I had never been to this area before... Anywho, enough with the jaw flapping and on with the photos:

I felt eyes on me, and decided to stop and look around... Not even 30 feet from me were these guys

The ground for the most part was dry, with some snow/mud in some places

A very nice Colorado day, albeit a bit windy

Had to be careful in some down hill places as to not slip and fall

Decided to have a nice break on the way back to the truck, sitting next to the river

Overall, it was good to get out of the house and adventure around on a beautiful spring day!

Awesome! I need to do stuff like this more often. I have the expanding waistline to prove that I do. We did a lot of Geocaching a few years ago, I need to get back in to it because there was some great hikes to be had!

Love the ramen. That a was a staple for my buddies and I when we would do long hikes. That and the giant cans of Dinty Moore beef stew when we were at camp.

Nice area. Have you hiked Maxwell Falls, or Cub Creek? Maxwell is a pretty easy hike, Cub creek is lots of up for first five miles, then up and down. You can hook into the Rosalie trail from there, and actually come out on Guanella Pass , or hook into the Abyss trail if you are really motivated.

good stuff...nice to see dirt finally showing through instead of all snow! i almost always see deer whenever i hike - the last time i saw over a dozen of them single file walking just 50 yds or so away from me while i sat there quietly. that's why i probably like to hike alone most of the time and on weekdays if possible. times like those are getting rarer and rarer.

Beautiful area man. Glad you got the chance to go out and enjoy it.

I was stuck in an office all day. :grumpy:

Great shots, beautiful area to play in. We finally went above 34* today, and with sun included. It's amazing how animals that are usually in parks or green belts will allow people to get as close as they do, but I bet their 5.85 is still in high alert.
Thanks for letting us go along with you.
Be safe.

love the pics!

good ol ramen, man thats a staple food around here too. I often carry a baggy of fresh chopped green onions and hot pepperoni to add to mine ramen when hiking./

We put some kind of small tuber-like root from a tiny white flower and ants in ours.

head up to ft collins and I'll teach ya how to fly fish

no promises well catch anything ;)

Nice shots, looks like a great area to kick around in. Those creek pics remind me of some of my own hiking areas here.

I used to spend a lot of time in the Evergreen/Conifer are when I lived in CO. Great day, huh?

Now head up to RMNP and look for Elk and waterfalls!
