As I said in the custom forum...
James Black goes to Sheffield England, meets Bruce Evans and they talk about Tah-Chee and Carrigan :)

Forged 5160, 8" blade, SS framed handle, mammoth ivory handle with nickle silver trim. The sheath is wood covered with book binders leather, lined with velvet and has N/S throat and tip.(more pix in custom forum)
The fit and finish is awesome, the hand rubbed blade is fantastic. I'll shoot some better pix on the weekend, I rushed these by my kitchen window. The knife was still cold from its trip in the UPS truck!

Happy Happy Joy Joy!
No name for this one yet...suggestions?

This isn't my favorite style of bowie, but Bruce did an exceptional job. I can certainly understand why you are so happy to have this one.

This is one of my favorite styles of Bowies, I have one from PJ Tomes, but this one is beautiful.
Wally, I hope you have this one with you for Show & Tell at the show. It seems like every show I'm looking for you and your new Evans Bowie.

Well Wally, you did good, but Bruce did better. That is one outstanding looking knife. Congratz to the both of you.

Thanks for showing off the knife Wally,PhilL is this one as good as the one Wally had last year..

I wish someone would post something about the show,I want to hear details of how it is:D Can't believe no one has posted anything anywhere on the forums about it yet..The suspense is killing me:D

Bruce, my guess is that this new Bowie is better than last year, although I don't remember seeing anything wrong with "Ebony & Ivory" (if I remember the name correctly). I'm sure you're getting better and better with every knife you make. I would think there was a lot more work with this Tah Chee Bowie, with the wrapped handle and leather covered sheath and all. I have a relatively simple Tah Chee Bowie from ABS Master Smith PJ Tomes and I asked Wally to show it to PJ. Now PJ has a much more descerning eye than I do and he was very impressed. I think the only thing he said was the pins in the handle need to be moved in. Both of you guys should be very proud of this knife. I'm glad I got to handle it.

Thanks PhilL,I knew I should have made the pins bigger and closer into the handle after I drilled and pinned it together.I should have second guessed myself on those,I was thinking that Wally might want to get artistic and have it scrimmed, but he could have done that anyway..If that is all that anyone has found wrong then I am very HAPPY and LUCKY:cool:
Thanks
Bruce

Bruce,

I got the chance to handle this knife at the show. Very good work, the pins looked fine to me...:)

It is really something, watching a knifemaker go over a blade. Both Alex Daniels & PJ Tomes looked it over and both of them seem to use their eyes and their fingers independently. They are looking over here but feeling over there at the same time.

I have to say that it was great fun walking around with that bad girl tucked in my belt (Thanx PhilL;) )

And thank you, Bruce!
