Hi guys & gals!

I came home from work today and found on the kitchen table two packages. My wife took it from the postman and rescued them from the amount of snow flying around ;) - one of the packages was from Jack Black and one from Vanguard. It felt like a child on christmas eve while opening the two packages (as you can imagine). (I took some quick pics, before daylight will move for today...)

In the package of Jack, there was a Lamb Foot knife, made by A. Wright & Sons Ltd., Sheffield, England. The knife seems is brand new and in real great condition. The sheepfootblade is of nice shape, as well as the swayback handle. And a nice One Penny coin, made in 1901. What a wonderful gift from a great guy!! Thank you very much, Jack! :) :)

The second package contained something from Vanguard. I made a trade with him, some weeks ago. He showed off a Camillus TL-29. I asked him, if he wants to trade and he said yes. For the TL-29 I sent him a Robert Klaas Penknife with corkscrew. Some months ago, I sent him an old Bundeswehr Kampfmesser (German Army Fighting Knife) old version, which he gave to his son as a gift. For this, I took a Camillus Small Stockman.
So far, so good.
But the package contained two other knives as gifts  - A small Jackknife made by Ulster and a small John Primble Belknap Penknife (which still has its original blade etch). Thank you, Tom! :) :)

Let the pics speak at their own again:

I just feel like a boy on christmas now. That´s so great!! :) Five wonderful knives from two wonderful guys. I can hardly believe it. None of these knives is or even was available here in Germany. So they are such unique gifts.

Thank you so much, Tom & Jack! You couldn´t make a knife knut happier than on such a great day!
Really a belated christmas eve for me, today!

Just right now, my pockets are empty, because I don´t know which knife to put in there and give it some walk around its new home. But this will change soon!

Andi,
put some cargo pants on, and carry them all :D
Nice gesture from two great guys here, and addressed to someone who does deserve it :)

Happy they got there safe and sound!
I knew they were going to go to a deserving home.

Edit to add, I was trying to outdo Jack's gift. :D

Glad the Lambsfoot arrived Andi, I figured you'd like one, and would have sent it before Xmas, but York (where I got it) was subject to flooding. So you got Sheffield-made snuff instead! :D Of course the penny is for that lovely Stockman you sent me (a friend was just admiring it a few minutes ago). :)

Nice one Vanguard, don't want Andi running short of knives! :D

Very nice Andi, congrats!!!
Also nice job fellas, it seems everyday there is a post like this here.

Andi, Jack sent me a penny last week, it's been in my pocket for luck ever since.

As I sit here reading, a huge smile emerged on my face! Thank you for sharing this Andi!
And very good on Jack and Vanguard

Great looking knives
Es ist eine tolle Sache, etwas, das nicht verfügbar ist, wo Sie leben zu erhalten
Hope I got that right I was stationed in Germany for six years but that was a long time ago.

Great surprise. Good on you gents for sending something to Andi in his winter wonderland! :D

That TL-28 has caught my eye a few times before....I hadn't realised it was so big though.

Jack looks to have found a particularly good example from A Wrights. Sad to say they are not all like that.

Enjoy using them, when you finally decide where to start! ;)

Nicely done, everyone.

Congratulations, Andi.

Good turns and returns, all around. :)

Thanks for the kind replies, fellas. :)

I´m still really pleased with the knives and the great coin I got today... Just opened some Weissbier (Wheatbeer) to celebrate this :D

What a great thread!, Andi...that A.Wright looks absolutely beautiful-what a lovely knife! and isnt Vanguard a Top bloke!...along with our friend from way over England way...Jack!... three really deserving people ( yourself included Andi ).
Thank you for showing us!

Thanks again, for the kind words, fellows :)

So far for today:
- 12° Celsius and an icecold wind from northeast today, so I had a lot of time digging myself in my work shop and doing some sharping. I sharpened each blade to razorsharp. Just different grit waterstones and a leatherstrop.

I´m still wondering how this used steel(s) gets such an amazing edge in such a short time.
