Hi! I found BF at the beginning of July, and immediately joined up. I have always had an EDC, from the time I was a freshman in high school and my shop teacher explained why he carried a knife, calling it a tool and not a weapon.

all these forums, different discussion groups, a wide variety of knowlege and smart people from all walks of life. Plus the chance to ask questions and learn from other peoples questions, answers and experiences.

I I felt like a kid in a candy store!!!

Have a small knife collection by comparison to others here, but very happy with what I have got (Benchmade, CRK project 1, Dawson tanto and camp knife, and a few others.

I immediately started reading and responding to posts, bought a Sebenza from u812. Also got some nice lanyards from him(Thanks again, Jeff!)

Saw Dan Koster's site, went gaga over the monster nessie, and ordered one immediately.

anyway, apologies for not introducing myself right off the bat, but feel very happy to be able to talk and learn from people who know the value, advantage, and reasons for needing to carry/collect the right blade for the occasion, whatever that might be!

Thanks! have bought 6 knives since i joined, either from members here, eBay, or knifeCenter(Yesterday)!

Sounds like you're hooked too.:)

When you like so many knives this buying trend can last a lifetime.

Just a heads up.:D

Oh yeah, i'm definately in it for life!

I think I was a bit excited at first, and got a little carried away (Was actually glad I lost a couple eBay auctions, for financial reasons)

think I've settled down now, but will probably be a consistent buyer.

next step is I'd like to look for a wilderness suvival skills course.

there are so many cool forums here!

As I've told others I enjoy the hunt for a new knife as much as owning it.

Take your time and enjoy the hunt, then you will find the knife you really want.

555, thanks for the advice. the search for the knife(s) is very fun! and you're right, always something new/different to read, which I love to do on so many topics.
I'm trying to practice a bit more caution, just so I don't blow my monthly budget. luckily I have no WAF to deal with, being single, so no one to get pissed at me for buying blades.
thanks again!
