A couple months ago I made a comment in a thread about the Belgian Army/Navy knives that I regretted not taking advantage of an opportunity to get one of them several years ago. These knives are hard to find in the US. Next thing I know, Jerry (Galeocerdoshark) sent me an email asking for my address. This week I received my very own example. From Jerry's description, this is the Navy version - it has an anchor with ZM FN, and the main blade is stamped Friedrichswerk, Solingen.

I am quite pleased with this knife. It is very sturdy, with strong springs. And that big marlin spike could come in very handy for a variety of tasks, not just for knots. Many thanks to Jerry for sending this to me, it is very appreciated!

Very kind gesture Jerry. Hope you enjoy using it sir. I've not had one of the Solingen models, but anchor aside, that's actually a copy of the British ARMY knife.

That thing is a beast! After taking one apart to mod it for a customer, I had some ideas I wanted to try on one as well. I just got outbid on one, so I will have to keep an eye out for another opportunity.

BTW, I don't think you'll be able to kill that thing. You should see the time I had taking one apart.

Great score, great gesture, Jerry!

Ebony covers by any chance? ;) I definitely think mine will outlast me! It's great to have such a good solid user with that kind of age :)

Very cool. Even now I still get surprised by the generosity of my fellow forumites. This is one of many instances in which one member gifted a knife to another because of something written here. Bravo Jerry!

Looking forward to seeing the pics! ;)

I'm glad you're enjoying it John. Some 1000 grit sandpaper and some polishing compound, and it should clean up nicely with some nice patina spots here and there.
I hope you'll get a lot of use out of it! Have fun ;-)
