I will be leaving in a few days for Belize, Gustemala and El Salvador. I will be packing my "usual" SAK which I hope won't be a problem, and wonder if a larger (3.5") folder will get me into any trouble in any of these countries.

Any advice most appreciated!

Thanks!

How are you travelling?
Getting on and off cruise ships for shore excursions you may be checked 'airport style', including metal detectors. Knives and weapons may be confiscated. Couldn't say about within individual countries. I loved Belize. A very under advertised destination. English is the national language. Very friendly people.

I'll be arriving by plane: blades in checked luggage. Belize is indeed a great place!

I'm going to Guatemala tomorrow. Flying in then renting a car. Will be there 5 days. What's the carry situation for something like a Spydie Endura? Will stow the knife in my checked bags, of course.

Great place I was there in 87. We drove overland into Guatemala, it was a great trip we were their for a couple of weeks. I carried a sak and a machete with no issues. Don't know if the political atmosphere has changed in Guatemala but anything that even remotely looked military was really frowned on. Belize was a different story no issues with military stuff really nice friendly people in both countries.
If you have time check out the wood carvings in Belize they do some really beautiful work.

Have a great trip!!
