Has any body tried or tested the bowenknife.com belt buckle knife system.
If so how strong is the connection between the knife and belt? And is it a very quick draw?

I have had the the bowen single edged belt buckle knife. when you draw the knife, the belt is unsecured, and ceases to hold up your pants. I wore mine all the time when I lived in tampa, but I didn't need the belt, as I liked my pants tight around the waist.

It can be somewhat fast with practice, but I found it to be clumsy overall, especially if the belt is too long. when the knife is in the sheath and the belt is fastened, it is quite secure, as in it won't fall out.

The knife itself is curved to contour to the waistline and is somewhat thin. I found holding it was sort of uncomfortable, and I have small hands. I could not get a very secure grip on it, plus, it is stainless steel, and could be slippery.

I always thought of it as a very last ditch self defense weapon.

It is also considered illegal in many places so keep that in mind as well.

It is considered a concealed weapon in most places and is, therefore, illegal to carry for most of us.

I have one!

it works very well

I would reccomend it 100%

Anyone tried to improve the comfort level of one of these? I am thinking of wrapping the bottom of it in paracord

I quit using mine, I found I was cutting my fingers all the time when I tried to snug up my belt, not to mention the fact that the knife would fall out at inconvenient times, expecially when in the bathroom john-- I had to take to putting a small piece of duct tape to hold the knife in, which kind of defeats the purpose if you would need it fast. I agree with Pete that when the belt is fastened, the knife is secure, but when it isn't, the knife can fall out quite easily. I don't recommend them anymore.

try these guys your pants will stay up.I have a few of these ,used as EDC for years & never had anyone pick up on it being anything other then a buckle.and never had it just fall out.

Yep... if LEO catches you with one like my work bud did.. you are in for a fun time before a Judge! Carry one at your own risk in public. I am not telling you what to do.. just a freindly warning!

My father carried a double edged one for many years, kept it sharp but no other knife care. Knife held very well to daily use. The deterioration of the belt was the limiting factor.

It is a well made knife for a specific purpose and it works good.
