I bought this in the early 80s. A Gerber Touche. The problem with it was that it would accidentally open. Who else has a belt buckle knife?

I have one, its really cheap. The knife used to always fall out of the buckle and the blade was pretty much useless so I stopped wearing it. I am pretty sure in California where I live they are illegal so I guess its a good thing.

I picked up a cheap one in Harlem. It is more of a novelty to me though as I don't think it could go through too much abuse. Plus the legality issue.

I had one like yours except it had wood grain corners--classy! I had the same issue, it didn't open but the blade never felt very secure, plus it didn't lock open at all (not even like a slip joint) so it wasn't much use. The buckle itself was heavy, it would've been good swinging it.

There is another design with a fixed blade that slides horizontally into the belt, that's probably a better design but still really a novelty item.

Bowen Buckle Knives are the most common quality one. A. Daniel Valois is famous for them too.

That buckle knife is one based on the patent by Custom maker Blackie Collins, I have one by Blackie, then the one soon after by Gerber. The Collins one is tighter and better made, but my Gerber has never opened accidently either.

I've never understood the point of these things. Why would you want a sharp knife so close to an important, sensitive area?

I'm not trying to be funny, that's a serious question. If it came down to either keeping my man parts in tact or having a knife, I don't need a knife that badly.

Depending on genetics, having a blade on the beltbuckle is further away than having a blade in the front pocket...

Does anyone know where I can find a gerber touche? I'm getting desperate, my fiance had one and it fell out
Now I want to find a replacement. It has a lot of sentimental values. Please anyone help me. I'd like to find one
Before I have my baby. Thank you!
