Surely, I can't be the only one here who likes belt buckles. Let's see your favorite belt buckles and belts and a brief description.

Clockwise from top:

1930's Navajo buckle and Old Stud Handmade belt.
1976 Navajo buckle and a belt from Estes Park, CO in the 70s.
1975 Weatherby buckle. I made the belt. Elephant hide trim.
1999 Bohlin buckle and a hand-tooled belt from Santa Fe.

I have several stashed away, but nothing real nice or fancy, mostly odd ball or folk art type.

Here's what's been holding my knife for the last few years, unknown maker, unknown meaning lol!

Nowhere near as nice or classy as your buclkles TAH. Also, nowhere near as cryptically awesome as yours Xander. This is the belt that I just made out of a old bicycle tire.

Xander, nothing wrong with that buckle and belt. Looks great! Is that cowboy riding a squirrel? :D

Flat, that belt is awesome. What a clever idea. You could sell those. Did you bond it to leather? Cool buckle too.

Lol, yep. Cowboy riding a squirrel who is smoking a pipe. What milk shake has to do with any of it is any bodies guess. I've often though about having more of these made just for the pure awesomeness of it, but part of me wants to have the only one!

I'll dig some other ones out today and get some pictures.

Have you ever done any research on that squirrel buckle? Is there anything written on the back? Looks great with the grommets on that belt.

My dad made this at Caterpillar in Illinois about 30 years ago just after his apprenticeship there. He made two exactly the same and gave my his brother-in-law one and just recently gave me this one.

Zero markings what so ever. Google searching as you can imagine is rather fruitless, well as far as juxtaposing all the elements together anyways.

The belt is one I picked up at Target some years ago, it's actual leather but I have since lost a couple inches and need to have it shortened. It's held up very well for a $20 leather belt!

Nice buckles gentlemen. Here's one of my favorites I've had so long I forgot where it came from. Probably a flea market or yard sale, ha!

Good looking buckle. Looks like typical Navajo style from the 70s-80s. Help me on the knife?

I'm not trying to be rude or knock those that like buckles but don't you folks run into problems with those digging into you at times? Even bending over to tie your shoes would seem to cause discomfort especially if you're a few pounds overweight.

My guess on knife... Scrapyard 711?

You are correct on the knife sir...SYKCO 711. I do prefer smooth edges and an oval shape to buckles to keep from getting gouged. One time my dad gave me a buckle with a buck deer on it, and the antlers were made above the body of the buckle. No tying your shoes while wearing that one :)

TAH, that '76 Navajo is a very cool buckle.

Good question. I have a 32" waist, so I've never thought about it.

Scrapyard 711, huh? I might have to look into one of those. :D

It's hammered stainless steel. I haven't worn a belt with a buckle since I was a little kid, but last year I bought this 5.11 Tactical Apex Gunner's Belt and love it.
