Belt Carry mid-size EDC Defensive

I was wondering if anybody could recommend a small to medium fixed blade (4 to 6 inches or so) for edc/defensive use that can be belt carried.
I currently edc a neck knife (rotating a cold steel spike talon or blackhawk XSF) and a folder (kershaw Lahar/RJ Martin Chill) but I'd like to have something that looks good on the belt/budget.
I have quite a few fixed blades but nearly all of them are over 8 inches, my smallest being a KA-BAR USMC. The knife laws where I live are pretty lax (I used to carry an ontario machete on my belt as a teenager everywhere but the mall and school and hardly got a second look) but I' like to start carrying something more compact than a full-sized combat knife.
I just want something that can take care of light-medium edc tasks with an aggressive point and good slashing potential.I'm not picky in terms of blade style. Anyone have any ideas for less than 75 bucks or so?

Here are some ideas from my opinion!
Karambit- Tarani? Cold steel? I don't know much on fixed K-bits. :foot:
Dagger- Gerber Mark II, CS Peacekeeper II
Push Dagger- Only ones I know of are Cold Steel
These are some alternative ideas on FBs to carry on the belts?
Hope this helps!

You can pick up one of these Kabar large TDI's for around 45$ then another 10$ for the belt clip.
Or just use para cord with the Kydex sheath it comes with. You can buy it with or without the ankle sheath. It's made for self defense.

If you can get someone to do up a kydex sheath, the Benchmade Griptilian 151 fixed blade is a nice 4 inch knife that'll stand up to your sweat better than many high carbon blades. Weight isn't bad either. I picked mine up for $65 retail. I don't really intend mine for SD use, but rather doing tasks like food prep or basic cutting for my BoB. However, I feel that it'll gig someone readily enough.

ESEE knives ESEE4. 4.5" blade of 1095 with one of the best sheath systems around. I set up my sheath for horizontal carry accross the back. I also convexed the edge.

The ESEE lineup is damn appealing. I'm taking a long hard look at the ESEE-6 with a clipped point (sharpened i think). Any experience with this one? I've never owned a RAT so any info is good

thanks all,

I really like that ankle rig, I was looking for something that would allow me to securely attach a CS safemaker II to it and this seems like it would be perfect.

But I'm not sure if I want to run it on the inside of the boot or the outside, running it on the inside to me doesnt sound like it would be comfortable, and running it on the outside it would easily get dirty.

Ideas?

Is this the only real option to securely attach a small knife to your boot? Or are there other straps that have less material but yet work just as well?
