Battered, but unbowed.

Belt clip from crummy old suede revolver holster, with GB ties to 12in AK scabbord.

Works a charm. Quick on, quick off. No slap or dangle.

Have a similar clip on 15in AK-ish knife. Works equally well.

Nice!!

I assume GB ties are those plastic zip tie thingies?

I'd really like to make one(or more) of those in the future.

That's a creative solution. Especially as older gunnies end up with a drawer full of empty holsters and accompanying aperatus. A large Army Surplus store might yield all kinds of treats for carrying khuks. The world's armies have been experimenting with carrying equipment for many years, and the equipment is always changing.

Kis my friend, that is one helluva 'n idea!!!!  :D
Me Likey.;)

Yuh nSuh?

It is much less conspicuous from the outside view.

Here's Sarge, the 12inch AK villager with the belt clip, some wood ducks and, of course, the double-barrel 20 gauge that makes me happy each time I use it.

That picture could sell a lot of khukuris...or a lot of shotguns.

Or a lot of ducks.

Nice idea, Kismet. First you get get me sold on dangler sheaths, now you're giving me new ideas. I will look into this.

You just attach the clip to the belt?

yup.

Or over the top of your pants if you happen to have shrinking pants' waistlines and no longer need a belt for them. I've not tried a khuk heavier than a 15 AK, but I doubt that you'd want to try it. For the 12in, it rides in a nice position; for the 15in, it is a little high. If I wear a BDU shirt, it just covers it anyway. Tucked in, might make a big knife conspicuous.

Thanks about the picture; it came through a 35+ year-old SLR Mamiya that was my loaner camera to all my friends who traveled the world and (although they could afford the dammed trip,) wanted to borrow a "good" camera to take pictures. I haven't had it out in decades. Gotta love durable technology. These images turned out well.

Wal-Mart charged $6.85 for 24 prints and a CD with the images. Works for me.

Looks great Kis:)
A pic like that just screams a life worth living. Now that I have more time off I'll hit up the army surplus stores. Thats an excellent set up. Thanks for the pics and sharing some of your knowledge.

BTW: Tandy Leather has those spring clips for about $.89 apiece IIRC. I must have five or six of them lying around.

Uh yup, the khuk sized ones go for about a buck and a half.

Hmmm, belt clip scabbards for my EDC knives. Gee Kis, thanks for creating more work for me. Just kidding, great idea. :D

btw, nice pics

And I was just at Tandy in Tacoma last week. Oh, well. It's not like I won't be there again in a month or two. :)

Uh Dave, don't know how far you have to drive to get to Tacoma, but considering what gas costs nowadays, it might be cheaper just to pay shipping http://www.tandyleather.com/

Nah, I've got a 50 mpg car and it's only about 45 minutes away. They'll charge me sales tax whether I buy online or in person.

Most importantly, the browsing is worth the trip. Lots of cool stuff there, and I like to see the leather in person before I spend money. (And they're usually willing to wheel and deal a bit on the blems in person.) I'd go further than this if I had to.

That, and I have to drive past Krispy Kreme to get there. That says it all right there. ;) It's a good thing I only go once every month or so.

It is pretty cool.

I would be careful on catching it on something and bending the clip.

MRostov?

The ones I have are spring steel and may be the only quality part of those suede holsters. Hasn't been a problem. I don't know about the Tandy clips.

Kismet, one thing you might want to try is to make a frog out of nylon webbing, such as 2" seat belt material. You can securely affix a clip like that to the rear of the frog body with a cross piece of webbing.

You can also make a vertical belt loop for the frog that is quick detach with a 2" fastex buckle that closes the belt loop at the front of the loop near the top.

You could also easily make a frog that incorporated both features.
