This may be more fitting for the sheath forum, but I know most of the Mora fans dwell here, so here it goes:) I've recently become a fan of the Hultafors knife. The one problem I find with them is a strange belt/button clip attachment system. It's strange, the Mora has a usable belt clip and a basic button slot. The Hultafors has a (pretty much) useless belt clip, but a super-locking, German engineered looking button lock. I did some (a lot!) web reserach and found a possible solution. It involves the following: Tandy Leather belt clip (they have different designs) and a replacement button for blue jeans. The result is a super simple swivel belt clip which uses the button attachment system on the crazy Swedish sheaths:D I just put this together, so how well it works remains to be seen, but it seems very effective and secure. I guess the main question is how durable the set-up is, which only time and use will tell. I hope this helps someone. Take care.

The parts.

Attaching the button to the steel clip via the rivet type locking system. The directions say to use a hammer, but the many helpful ladies on the internet say a vise works much better at not crushing the button. The red plastic thing helps hold the button in place for hammering, but I used it mainly to keep from marring the button.

How it goes together. I also added a shock cord loop for extra security. It fits nicely in the top "hinge" of the sheath's clip.

Once the sheath's clip is closed, it locks the button securely in place, but allows enough clearance for the sheath to swivel.

That is very neat. I will save this thread for if/when I ever get around to making one for my Hultafors. Thanks.

Thanks guys! Met with a buddy who has a wide assortment of Moras today. I didn't realize how many different belt/button clips Mora used! It looks like this clip should work well for most of them. He did have one which didn't have a button hole, but most do. I'll try to keep y'all updated on the durability of the button, as that's the only part which could be weak. The spring clip should last a life time and so far works extremely well for belt, waistband, and pocket clipping. Thanks.
