Belt Grinder Buffing Attachments?

Hi All,

I have been thinking it would be nice to have a buffer but (like many) space is at a premium in my shop. After a little Google, I came across buffing wheel attachments for 2x72 belt grinders. The ability to make my grinder pull double-duty is appealing, and so is having a variable speed buffer. I wanted to ask the group, are there any significant negatives to these buffing attachments?
These seem to be the best built:
Brodbeck Buffing Attachment
84 Engineering Buffing Attachment

Main uses would be polishing, but it would probably also be paired with brass wire wheels, and Scotch-Brite wheels.

Thanks in advance for your time.

As long as you keep the space relatively clean they will work.
Keep your buffing wheels and compound in sealed plastic bags away from the grinder so they don't get contaminated with grinding dust.

The main negative is that the buffer wheel is likely going to be too high. Buffing should be at belly-button height.. Yo will not control the piece being buffed as well if your arms are raised. Not something that is a "never do this", bur something to be aware of.
