After about a year of building, and gathering parts I finally got my grinder assembled and running. It runs on a 2Hp 3PH Toshiba motor with a KBAC-27D VFD. I built every part of the machine myself from the base plate to the drive, and idler wheels. Now after I play with the machine for a little while I will dissasemble it and have it powdercoated.

That is the nicest "home-made" grinder I have seen, looks awesome!

Thanks for the compliments guys, but wait till I get it back from the powder coater;)

Outstanding job, thank you for posting the great photographs!

The grinder super clean. How do you stop your vicE from swivelling when your working? does that top plate screw down right enough?

Yes, the top plate clamps the ball very tightly with very little pressure needed on the allen wrench.
