Belt Grinder For Grinding Wheel

I recently saw in one of those knife magazines I'm too cheap to buy a product
review for a belt grinder you can hitch
up to a grinding wheel. Now I can't lo-
cate the magazine and I don't remember who
made this gizmo. Anyone know? Anyone
used this thingie? I suppose a separate
belt grinder is better but my shop is
really small and I don't have space for
lots of big tools.
Thanks!

They are called a Multi-Tool. Texas Knifemakers has them. I saw them there today.

I've been using one for a couple of months. It's great! I hooked it up to my 1 horse bench grinder. It needed a little bit of fussing to get it to fit properly but it was no big deal. Belts change very quickly and easily. Only bummer is that the ad shows three different arm positions but to change them means disassembling the thing completely, something that I am not interested in doing. Also the rubber contact wheel is great but is only 4 inches in diameter so is a bit small for most holoow grinding. I think it's a great machine for the money and until I graduate up to a nore expensive machine. I'll probably always keep it as a backup.

The other thing I plan on doing is hooking up a 2inch wide 8" diameter expandable rubber drum with various grit belts on the other side of the grinder. They have them for sale at Rio Grande jewelry supply and come with quite an array of belt grits. This way I could dabble with hollow grinding very cheaply.
