Hello...

So I use a small belt grinder to sharpen my knives but it's not powerful enough to make primary bevels. I guess it could in theory but it would take a long long time.
What would be the minimum or a in the middle belt grinder I could use to make primary bevels?? What kind of specs should I look for?
I do plan to eventually buy a bevel jig for it...but until then I plan to just do it freehand.

Thanks!

After fooling with 3 step pulley setups the minimum I'd even consider after a few yrs of fooling with knifemaking is a 2X72 with VFD in the $1,000 price range for total if purchased. You can save a $300 to $400 if you build yourself. "IF" budget is no consideration, a $5,000 package would be nice!
