Hi everyone, I want to build a 2x72 belt grinder but funds are lacking. I have a 2000w bldc ebike motor ( very similar to

Ive been getting by with a treadmill motor from surplus center. Very cheap and tons of options. I Do plan on making another grinder with a 3 phase but this has served me well so far. Not recommended but on a budget it will do.

Hello Ofek, since you're in Israel, I'm not sure what your source (and cost) of supplies are. Yes, that motor would drive a grinder nicely, and the controller would allow speed control. Since you've got the motor on hand it would be cheap.

That is a 48 to 60 VDC motor, what is your source of power? If possible it would be best to trade that motor/controller (you do have the controller?) for a 3 ph motor and order a cheap Chinese VFD.

Good luck and have fun.
