I don't think you will be happy with a lesser quality belt grinder.
In the long run the high quality ones will give you many hours of
trouble free beautiful work. I have not found any good ones under
$900.- (motor included) You could build your own!
The good ones have a 1 to 1.5 horse motors that will not back down to anything you shove at it. They have precise tracking so that your grind lines look good.
In conclusion, save your money, buy a good one.
