For that kind of money ,you might as well save a few $$$ and get a Grizzly.
Essentially the same machine but with a motor. The buffer is free. If you are going to spend that kind of money, weigh your requirements for what you expect the machine to do. (versatility)Also think about how much you really are going to use it. Buy the best you can afford if you"re serious. Good luck.

I am buying a grizzley here soon I was using 2 Harbor freight and tool pieces to do my work . And I used my uncles grizz and my pieces looked a bit better and the lines crisper(if anyones used the shitty grinders I think the grinder does help).

Warrior,
Yes thats the one. I only mentioned it because of price. After looking at your first link, I thought $ 460 was steep for a motorless set up. You're looking at another $150 minimum for a decent motor, so now you"re up to over $600. That's licking at heels of a KMG or Bader. I'de hold out for a better option. Just my 2 deneros.

Well the thing is I allready have 2 motors and I dont know if this is something I will like, so keeping my spending limit low is important. SO MANY CHOICES SO LITTLE MONEY. I can get a cheaper belt grinder form kalamazo Its not like I am gonna be doing this profesonaly. But I would like a grinder that works well. I got 300 bucks for my b-day so that will be towards a grinder.

Warrior,
Even with shipping you"ll still be under $ 460. You wont get the best tool available but you will get a tool, two actually, that work out of the box. If you check out the design on both machines, they are basicly the same. If money is the issue, wouldn't you want all you can get for the least spent?
If you find you do like making sharp pointy things, you can use your spare motors to make something like a disc sander. (very useful) Good luck with your connundrum.

It looks like a pretty good setup. Just purchase some step pulleys from Grizzly and a 1HP electric "farm duty" motor off ebay and you'll have a variable speed grinder.

The Grizzly grinder works, but it's harder to get "clean" grind lines because it's so damn fast.
