Not sure if "belt hanger" is the right word to describe what I'm looking for. Anyway, I've got some SAK's that are a little too heavy to ride in my pocket comfortably. I don't want to attach a pocket clip to them, nor do I want to use a belt sheath. I'd like to find something that clips or attaches to my belt, and then has a chain or leather strap that would reach down into my pocket and attach to my knife to keep it vertical in my pocket, while supporting some or all of the weight of the knife.

Any pics or links or personal user experiences - good or bad - would be appreciated also! ;) Thanks!!!

I have the Victorinox belt hanger and it works well. The one I bought has several different attachments that can be mixed and matched. One is a long chain, about 18 inches with a snap hook on the end. And it also has a shorter, like 3 inch length of chain with snaphook. I used to edc a Swisschamp using this on a daily basis. It keeps the knife suspended above the bottom of the pocket and your belt or waist band supports the weight. They arent too expensive and they are well made and sleek. I highly recommend it to anyone that carries SAKs.

Thanks to everyone who posted here! I went with the Vic mentioned above, but without the longer chain - just the short chain. Sounds like it should work great, but if not you've given me many more ideas to consider. Thanks!

What about a maxpedition keyper?
I wear one everyday for my keys.
I don't know why it wouldn't work for your pocket knife as long as there's a small keyring attached to it.

Sometimes I'll put a short lanyard with a SS hook on it that I can attach to a belt loop so it is suspended in my pocket.

Ryan's has some nice plastic snap clips that I use for alot of things. They are inexpensive and durable. One of my kids has one on her keys to attach to a belt loop or back pack.
