Would to see how the experts put a belt loop on a sheath. I tried ribbets and not happy with them

I have used both rivets and stitching to secure belt loops and have found both methods, combined with good contact cement, will hold quite well. Can we see pictures and have a description of what you have tried?
 
I'm no expert, but most belt loops are either glued and stitched on, or made by folding over the back side of the sheath and then stitching and gluing. Here are some examples of the former;
