Belt sander epiphany

Thought I'd share a recent discovery.
I used to have one overhead light over my belt sander, I thought this was the best way to see exactly what I was doing. I noticed my head was creating a shadow. So I moved the light to the side, instead of directly overhead, and added another light on the other side using 100 Watt bright white bulbs. What a difference!
So much better light, no shadow and sharper edges!
I also raised the belt sander with a 6x6 to get the sharpening area about chest high. Another big difference!
It seems ergonomics and bright lighting has really helped me. Just wanted to share my recent epiphany.

Right on brother. I just raised mine chest high (which is pretty freaking high), but I'm working in the sun. I probably either need to play with positioning, or move it into the garage and get light like yours.

Small changes can reap big rewards!

Yeah, it's amazing how a little adjustment can make a big difference.
The opinel and others are just hanging around. I like to do experiments with them.
:D
