I need some good suggestions for a belt sander under 200 dollars and under, that has a slack area for a convex edge, can do any size blade, and has lots of different belts avaible, ranging from 220 grit, to micron belts, to leather belts. Thanks.

I'd just wait for one of ENCO's sales, they have one about every month, and snag a Kalamazoo. They can be had for under $200 from time to time.

I have a craftsman 2x42 (can also use 1" belts) and it works great! It has all of what you mentioned you wanted... i think i picked mine up for around $130 + expense of belts. Hope this helps. Ps. if you want a variable speed one, pick up one of those things that controlls the AC voltage to the unit (I think its called an actuator).

Who is ENCO? I tried enco.com but that did not work.

If this is possible, I think you should go with the Kalamazoo if you can swing it.

I've got a 1hp single phase with 2 of these Multitool attachments on (one vertical and one horizontal mounted)

For the price I paid for them (about $100 US each), nothing else comes close.
But you guys in CONUS have a lot more choice over equipment (and gemnerally cheaper, too)

I got a Viel after my HF 1x30 died. I'd never go back to the HF after useing this Viel it really is that much better. I got mine with the moter right from Viel, very quick shipping.

Haven't had a chance to use one of those Veil's myself yet, but I've heard that they're the go-to unit if you live in Canada. The shipping for a Kalamazoo is nasty if you're going up north.
