I noted someone mentioned a variable speed 1X30 belt sander in a earlier post. anyone know who makes them??? also i was just wondering why no one every talkes about hard felt wheels. how do they do comparied to the paper wheels??? rgr chuck.

i have a friend that worked in the same factory i worked at that made aircraft lighting. he was their maintainince man and would have his knives sharpened by the guys in the buffing department. they used a selection of wheels including felt. he said my knives were sharper than ones done on a felt wheel or belt. you can get belt sanders at grizzly imports, harbor freight and several other places, just take your pick. if you dont plan on putting a convex edge on your knives you can get by with just a set of wheels which put a v grind on the knife. go read my thread on paper wheels. i have vids out too that show how i use them. http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=578787
here is a link to a knife i made that was sharpened on the paper wheels. check out the one in my sig line too. that knife is one i made for michdad. http://knifetests.com/kII.html
