I have a custom made belt sharpener that uses 1x30 belts. It has a reduced belt speed (about 800fps). I have used it successfully on kitchen knives and some pocket knives with AUS 8A, AEB-L, 420 , 440C, and some other common steels.

I recently purchased a Spyderco Manix with S110V and I am curious as to which belts to buy to sharpen this one.

Any advice?

You can get 125 and 45 micron diamond belts for 1x30 pretty cheap - is one of the only real advantages to using a smaller machine. In fact I use them on non super steels too as they do such a good job and wear very slowly if used with a film of water.

Belts go down to 9 micron, I normally just stop at the 125 and microbevel them on an EF diamond plate.
