I know I've seen a link somewhere for a calculator to tell me the approximate belt speed I should get given a certain motor speed, pulley size, etc. Anyone know where this is?

Thanks!

Hey Derek,
I have no infro on the belt speed calculator. However I am building a grinder and saw and bookmarked your website some time ago. I have been trying to get on your website for some time to look at your pictures of your grinder. I can't get the website to come up do I have the wrong address? If it is down are you going to be able to get the webpage back up? If not do you have the pictures available somewhere elese? I really liked your bolted together grinder design.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

Try this:

Motor RPM x pulley diameter, divided by 3.82= SFM

(SFM=Surface Feet Per Minute)

This is from memory. I'll look it up tomorrow and confirm it.

NOTE:

This formula is correct, according to the Machinery Handbook, 25th edition.
