Thinking of building my own Belt Grinder. Being as the tough part is making a good tracking assembly, does any supplier make just the tracking assembly available to purchase?

Hi oldwolf,
Most of the time, tracking assemblies are simple hinges. If you're able to align the rest grinder, you have the 'tough' part down.
Take care, Craig

Thanks Del and Craig.
Guess I'll give making a "hinge" a try. If it doesn't work I can alway bounce for the $100.00 one unless someone knows of a cheaper one.

You can dig through older posts of mine - I had some pics posted of me HMG (Her Majesty's Grinder), with a close-up of the tracking assy. And yes, it is very much a hinge :)

Most universally, tracking wheels are contouered (edges "lower" than the middle), helps belt tracking

Thanks Rashid. I found the link to your Grinder. Simple but effective Grinder. Not exactly a Hinge, but I did similar with a homebuilt grinder I purchased. Kinda pulled it where I wanted it. Looks like that's about what you are doing. Am I right?
