Hey guys, just wondering if some of the members have a favorite brand/grit belt for surface grinding.

Two possibilities here:
One is he has a 2X72 mounted surface grnde like te Reeder or TW90. or
Two, he probably has set up his wheel type surface grinder with a belt instead of a wheel.

Either way, coarse ceramic belts work well.

I think you mean surface finishing?
Stacy is correct. Should’ve mentioned that I’m using an attatchment for my 2x72 grinder

I like the trizact belts but I wonder if the sections of grit wear unevenly and cause a wavy surface. I would like to try the norax belts at some point. For the low grit removal, the ceramic VSM belts are great on the SGA.

I only use my belt surface grinder for thinning stock and tapering tangs and get by using partially worn ceramic belts, so usually 50 grit vsm belts. After a partially worn belt sees surface grinder use it goes into the trash.
