Okay, this may seem odd or not. Leather belts just don't seem to last very long with me. Last one I bought was a Columbia Sports Wear leather belt last summer/fall and it's already falling apart . So what I'm looking for now is a nylon type that I can use for everyday wear as well one that I can use for when I go to the pistol range. I've looked at some from TAG, Blackhawk, Spec OPs, The Wilderness. Any thoughts or suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks.

I've been pretty pleased with this belt from Patagonia. It is durable and strong, as well as nice looking, without appearing too tactical. I have the green, btw.

I have been wearing the same belt for the past 10-12 years. It keeps my pants up and supports one or two handguns everyday. I bought it when I bought the holster from Ken Null for my P-7M8. Made of the same horsehide as the holster it still looks great. It wasn't cheap but horsehide will last forever.

In nylon I have had good luck with the Blackhawk Instructor Belt from Cops plus.

5.11 makes a stitched leather belt that I have been using quite a lot, holds up well and I am not a lightweight.

I usually wear a Galco dress belt. Have yet to wear one out.

Many of the holster makers offer "dress" belts for concealed carry use.

I have been wearing two blackhawk nylon belts for years now. They are holding up very well. The gun instructor belt will be my next one from them (I have the one that looks like the instructor belt, but not reinforced).

5.11 makes a nice, heavy nylon belt. They also make leather belts now, with nylon stiffeners between the layers, so you can wear a holster.

Or.....if you're no longer as thin as you used to be, I've found that the stiffer belts like the 5.11s really do hold up my pants better than a soft leather one.

I have two Filson double thickness belts. (yeah, lost some weight and got excited to buy a smaller size... gained it back:grumpy:) This is the best belt I have ever had, and I challenge XD45 to wear one of these out! Find at www.filson.com

My Ross Leather gun belt has withstood nearly 5 years of just about daily wear. It "creaked" a bit when I first got it, but broke in fairly quickly. I apply a leather wax once a year and so far no cracking or splits. Suede lined and thick- I don't see you wearing this out. I am very hard on all my gear and this belt keeps going. I also have good luck w/ their holsters as well.

Lots of good sounding suggestions so far. I'll checking these out tonight. Thanks all .

Concealco (www.greatholsters.com) has some really nice leather stuff. I've been wearing one of their dress gunbelts for about 5 years or so. They're not cheap, but they're very well-made belts.
