I sent Ben an emerson specwar-tanto, chisel ground, partial serration- felt like this would be a good challenge-in a return letter Ben acknowledged that I would need to get some practice in before attempting this knife myself. he sharpened it at 32deg- it is as sharp as you would want a utility knife to be, imo. is shaving sharp(not hair popping). now all i have to do is decide which one to get --apex or pro. Ben wrote a nice return letter-and seems to be genuinely interested in pleasing and helping his customers-makes the purchase price a little easier to handle as customer service means a lot to me. :)

Ben is a really nice guy and will talk about knives and sharpening for ages.

I tried sending Ben a good tester as well. In my case it was a BG-42 blade, I'm not sure what it's rockwell rating was but it was eating diamonds for a past time  It came back with a mirror polish on it and and all my previous mistakes corrected :D

Chief decisions on Apex or Pro revolves around if you will sharpen very often, and how comfortable you want to be when doing so; whether you are doing blades in excess of 3.5" wide or want a scissors adapter ever. If yes to one or all of these, get the Pro version. Both Pro and Apex do the job, when it comes to putting a good edge onto a knife.

ben did an amazing job on mine as well!

got the knife back sharper than i would have ever thought possible!

the edge was almost hypnotic. shiney and sparkleing....truly beautiful.

i got a note back with mine, explaining how he reprofiled the edges because they were waaaaay lopsided. truly an awesome guy!

i need an edgepro... :(

does anyone have the scissors adapter? if so does it work as well as the knife sharpener-a good sharp pair of scissors can be as satisfying to use as a sharp knife- well almost

Ben's the man, no doubt. He really understands the concept of service after the sale and my impression is that he does it more because he's a nice guy than because it's good for business. Fortunately they have the same result.

Ben is a class act.

I have the scissors attachment, and for the first time in my life I have sharp scissors.

I built my own scissor adapter to work with my Edge Pro.
All the adapter has to do is hold the blade at the right angle.

I use the standard Edge Pro hones and polishing tapes and my scissors are all very sharp.

Home life is smoother with ones wife happy with sharp kitchen knives and scissors.

Hey Bro, get the Pro! All kidding aside, the extra $$$ are worth it. Ben has helped me via email correspondence learn how to sharpen just about everything from a hawkbill to a tanto. I finished doing a Tarani Karambit tonight. It's hair popping sharp now and I feel satisfied that I picked the right sharpening system. :D
