Hey guys, I guess this isn't totally ot. In any case, I need some help.

I'm looking at a very nice burnisher for my sheath work, but to round out the machine it would be nice to have a drum sander on the opposite side. Alas I cannot find one. Anyone know of one, or how to make one? Arbor is 5/8ths or 1/2" (gonna have to adapt one side anyway, so I can use either).

Thanks.

I'm not sure if I fully understand what you're describing, however Brownells has some interesting drum sanders that can attach to a bench grinder. They are basically like a contact wheel on on a belt grinder, but without the rest of the belt grinder lol. They sell belts that slide over the wheel and are held in place as the wheel expands while it's spinning. Here is a link to them.. http://www.brownells.com/gunsmith-t...ng-sanding-drums/sanding-drums-prod24604.aspx

I remember years ago seeing one in a picture on Ariel Elias Salaverria's site and wanted one really bad since I couldn't afford a real grinder lol. So I searched and searched annd searched some more but couldn't find one since I didn't know what they were called and thus what to search for.. Then a long time later I came across these by accident, go figure lol. Here is the picture on Ariels site that I first saw it in for what it's worth.. click on picture # 26... http://www.aescustomknives.com/docs/knifemaking21.htm

Hope that's the answer to all of your troubles! ;)

Here's an example of what I'm looking for.

Except that the above is an inflatable drum called Flex Drum. It's supposed to be fantastic for woodworkers looking for a rounded profile. I should have said at the beginning that I'd prefer something around 2-3"x 4-6" and hard faced so I can square up edges before finishing them.

CSB, I'll definitely consider the product you linked to if nothing else pans out.
