Bench grinder?

Personally, I wouldn't ever sharpen any knife on a bench grinder.

Too much heat, too much speed, too hard to get the angle right, too much risk of the knife being grabbed out of my hands, and of no use for developing sharpening skills that can be employed in the field.

it would junk the knife with the wrong wheel really quick

a belt grinder with the RIGHT belt and Speed is acceptable other then that do it by hand or machine designed for sharpening

Is it safe to sharpen any of chris's one piece knives on a bench grider?

If you sharpen one of his knives on a bench grinder you don't deserve to own one.

if you want to use your bench grinder to put a scarry sharp edge on your knife. get a set of wheels made for a bench grinder. they are easy to use once you practice and it only takes a few minutes compared to longer with the lansky or any other system. there are cheaper wheels out there which i have a set of but for the best ones and the origonal maker check out this link. www.sharpeningwheels.com
