i have sharpend lots of knives and all i use is a two sided bench stone and a belt i want to know if other people use and what they think the best way to sharpen is

Diamond stones and diamond strop compounds, of all my sharpening tools they work the best.

im relatively new to sharpening and dont have a whole lot of experience yet but my best used to yet is my old leather belt that ive been using as a strop....once I figured out I could get knives shaving sharp on that thing sharpening has been a cinch.

Right now I'm in my belt sander phase, if I am sharpening a severely dulled knife I would go with 120, 320, 600, 1200grit belts then I'd switch to a leather belt on the belt sander, it gives me a hair whittling edge in no time.

Carbide stone, Lansky, sandpaper-and-mousepad, Japanese waterstones. I want to try paper wheels, Apex and DMT diamond stones.
