Is benchmades 20cv chippy? I will be using my knife for edc which consists of cutting zip ties, rope, and plastic mostly. I would go with m4 but I live on the east coast of Canada and I don’t want a battle rust every couple of days Due to air moisture and rain at least once a week. I’ve also had some chippy s30v from benchmade and wanting to try a different route.

They've fixed the issues with their heat treat on s30v A while ago....... Just.go Magnacut🤔if you aren't wanting maintenance.

I would if the Bugout was offered in Magnacut. I have some applied weapons tech scales from a previous knife I’m wanting to use.

Only along the edge would rust and if you are using it every day it won't really happen. You would have to be totally negligent for that m4 blade.to rust.on you........If you're a knife guy like me, I fahtz around with my knives multiple times a day and i usually wipe the blade on my pants leg before closing each time.......

If you're. Only going to use it a.few.times a week probably not the best but if you are using it daily it shouldn't be an issue....

I use my knife every second/third day at least. I might just try m4 because it is also the same price as s30v right now. I was just curious if 20cv would be a step up from s30v that I had in 2021. The s30v I had would chip on almost every zip ties.

I think you should be fine....And.once.you. Dress.it.up with the scales you'll want.to pull it out even more...😉

20cv and M390 that I have had from BM seems to have been decent and I haven't experienced it as chippy during normal tasks.

Do you cut much hard plastic? Like zip ties?
I don't have a time recent that I can remember, but I do cut up 43oz Folgers coffee plastic containers, which is tough enough it'll strip dlc from the blade, and haven't had issues cutting those. They don't take the twisting that zipties sometimes take though, so maybe it's not an equivalent comparison.
