Benchmade Knife 110H2O Any divers have info on this knife?

I couldn't find any reviews in the review forum.

Thanks.

I suppose there aren't a huge number of divers here.

I did try the search and found nothing for this Benchmade.

Anyone have other suggestions for a good dive knife?

I need to get one for a gift. It will be used in salt water and I want high quality, blunt tip and maybe about a five-inch blade and a good sheath that will hold up to salt water use.

In theory it's a good knife. N680 should hold an edge a lot longer than Spyderco's H-1 due to the carbides(or nitrides in this case). Nothing included should rust, but I'm not sure if the molded plastic sheath is good. But I suppose if the plastic sheath on my $10 Mora works well enough then the Benchmade one should work just as well. Haven't really come across any salt water related reviews of N680, so I don't know if it's rust-proof like H-1. I could leave my Lone Wolf skinner in N680 in a bowl of salt water overnight if that's where your concern is.

I really like the n680 on my benchmade 111 .I've worn it in lake champlain while jet skiing, in case I was attacked by champy obviously. It showed no rust but lake champlain is fresh water. I really like n680, it seems to have similar edge retention to spydercos s30 but has a lot more bite when cutting twine .if you decide on spydercos h1 I suggest you get it serrated, plain edge h1 just doesn't hold an edge well enough for me.

I'm no diver but I got the 110h2o a few weeks ago. Diving or seawater in general aside, it's a nice knife with a big broad blade and excellent grippy scales.

Thanks to all.....

Gadfly22, is that plastic button latch tight and reliable--not likely to release the knife accidentally?

I'm sorry but I misspoke. I have the 111H2O and not the 110H2O. The picture of the yellow handle folder above threw me.

Ah......ok.

I like the 110H20......just wondering if the latch on the sheath is dead reliable.

If anybody that has one wants to comment it would be appreciated.

I considered this knife, but for diving, I like the Salt 1 a lot better. It is just easier to use underwater, which is the whole point for me.

I agree -- that wide blade on the 110H20 is really great looking.
Now if BM just made a mini version.......
