I'm a huge Benchmade fan, and recently was given the opportunity to get one of the new clip point "machetes" (I say that lightly, IMO, it's just a large knife) for $75, so I jumped on it. I went with the clip over the bolo because of the size. I do prefer the bolo and kukri styles in larger blades, but for this KNIFE, I went with the clip point variant. I haven't seen far too many reviews nor videos on it, so I was wondering what you all thought of it. I usually carry(carried) my ESEE 5 for my wood days, and my Kershaw Camp 14 for larger clearing. I figured the 154BK will be a nice in between of my 2 usual carry blades, and coupled with an Ontario 18" machete in my pack, I would be ok. I usually put Benchmade with folders, and haven't heard terribly too much on their fixed blades, and moreso in specific, the 154BK. Any reviews and the like would be highly appreciated! And, for what it may be worth, I will be more so carrying this for general hiking and trailing - when I camp and the like, I have other additional blades I carry.

It looks nice, but it's definitely not a traditional. You may want to ask the mods to move this to general knife discussion or the Benchmade forum as that will probably net more helpful replies.

Thanks! I just reposted in the Benchmade forum (I'm relatively new here, didn't expect manufacture specific forums!) I figured it'd be nice for light to medium brush clearing and batoning as needed, as well as making some feather sticks if needed for a fire, etc. It'll be just good enough, I'm hoping, to have only it and my Mora Robust Pro on my hip for a day of hiking (I live in a city-heavy area, our trails aren't mountainous by no stretch of the imagination)

Since you have a thread on this in the Benchmade forum, I'll close this one.
