Here is a review of that BM155SBK fixed blade from the Benchmade site. Good looking heavy-duty fixed blade.

I got 155SBK about a month ago, and you don't hear much about this knife, so I thought it was worth of a review...

Up front, I will say that Tactical Knives Magazine has a review of this knife (and the Offsider) in the May issue, so if you want to see it cut stuff up there, check it out... Here are my impressions.

For a fixed blade this knife has personality, and a nice style... Which you can expect from a knife designed by Warren Osborne.

I like the sharpened false edge, for a about 2 and 1/2 inches from the tip, this is a double edged knife! Also, if you like serrations, this has some of the deepest serrations on any Benchmade I have seen.

The handle is the same handle as on the 520. Without the issue of pocket wear, this handle material shines on this knife. Frankly after holding the 155SBK, my G-10 handled Nimravus seemed slippery. The handle on the 155 is nothing short of super. There is also some exposed tang showing at the butt end, for use in prying and such. Not as much a "pommel" (ie, not useable as a makeshift hammer) as much as a pry bar.

I love the thumb ramp, it is well designed and quite functional. This knife balances as a fighter/utility knife, and will leave a bit to be desired in the chopping department.

The sheath is a nylon affair, and refreshing change from the old plastic Benchmade sheaths. here are a few pictures...

The front pouch of the sheath will fit a mult-tool quite easily, and you can see the multiply attachment options on the rear of the sheath.

As I said, this is a fighter/utlity knife. It seems perfect for the man or woman in uniform, especially the military. I really don't see our men and women in the service having to hack their way through jungle at the moment... I would feel well served with a knife like this if in their boots.

This is a fixed blade with style and passion, I like that... Not enough of that today in the fixed blade market.

Oh, and you have to love the "Boomerang" on the blade of this baby...
