Good day fellow knife nerds,
Does anyone know which diameter ferro rod fits in the factory leather sheath that comes with the Benchmade 162 Bushcrafter? The sheath has a built-in loop to hold a rod, but I see rods online in a variety of sizes including 5/16", 3/8", 1/2" etc. Looking for one that's not so slim it falls out of the loop, nor so thick it stretches the leather loop and gets stuck. Any ideas? It's a nice knife, might as well take advantage of the sheath and be more equipped for fires. BM customer service rep couldn't give a proper answer, instead saying the rod they offer for sale for this sheath is 0.545"... but that's the diameter of the metal cap on the end, not the actual rod...

Currently carrying:
BM Bugout 535GRY-1 (EDC)
Mora Robust - beater EDC fixed blade
Leatherman Wave (older version)

Non-daily at the moment:
BM 162
Kershaw Camp 10 for hacking fire/structure wood
CJRB Feldspar large - not a fan of the action so i don't carry this often
Leatherman Wingman

Had in the past and might someday replace after gifting away or losing them:
Buck 119 - several, badass multipurpose
Mora 511 & craftline Pro S and C - several
BM 556 mini grips - several
BM 140 Nimravus - 2
BM Crooked River - 2
Rexbeti 11" folding saw - extremely effective and affordable
Kershaw Cryo - too much blade play and soft blade steel

Have a nice day and keep your blades sharp,
Billy Bong Thornton
