Hey yall,

Does anyone have one of these? Do you like it? I dont use a fixed blade very much but for some reason this knife really appeals to me.

Thanks for the help in advance

I handled one at the last gun show I went to and loved it. However... for the money, I would rather (and could!) purchase a custom from someone.

Ordered one, it should be here next week $140.
I considered the Helle GT, BarkRiver Gunny but went with the BM 162...I like full tangs.

If I made a mistake...live and learn.

I picked one up due to my general appreciation of Benchmade products. I was a little worried that the handle might be too square- but it is actually quite comfortable. Super sharp right out of the box (I am a fan of S30V blades, and this is another great example of how good it can be). The sheath is very soft leather, and a bit snug - feels like it is cutting leather each time it gets sheathed. Not sure why they put a big D ring at the top of the belt loop. I haven't used it much, but feel that it is a very nice knife that is well worth the $.

What kind of custom worth its salt would be made of the same or as good of materials at the street price ($162) of the bushcrafter?

I like the looks of it, and would probably pick one up if I didn't already a custom bushcrafter (which cost more, but I got to pick out steel, handle material and color, liners, etc)

There's a big fat thread on this in the benchmade sub-forum under Manufacturers. Looks like a stout knife.

Same materials? Plenty of makers COULD. As good? Define "as good." Proper heat treat and edge geometry will make or break any knife.

To me, Micarta and 1095 would be "as good;" to some, wood and O-1 might be "as good."

It's a nice knife, I just have an affinity for customs made by local and / or aspiring craftsmen out there.
