when i was at work the other day, i picked up the new Military/Police/Public Safety Catalog from Benchmade that we got in the mail. I was flipping though it saw this model knife and really liked it. i was reading about it and wandering if any of you fellas on BF had this knife or had entertained thoughts of getting one too. What was the knife made for? Is it considered a dagger because both sides of it are sharp? These are just a few of the questions i have about this styled knife, if i can call it a knife..

It kinda resembled the HAK knives that have been discussed on BF and i was wondering if anyone could tell me a little more about these "blades." thanks!

It's a push dagger. The handle is a bit short as far as I'm concerned.

These knives are generally considered illegal to carry for one reason or another.

It's actually an old concept, some like 'em and some don't.

Do a google search and I believe there should be some history/old designs sites out there on the web.

I have the Benchmade. It is a slightly smaller but similar push dagger to the Mercworx Seraphym. The Benchmade has a very minimal handle, however, and most buyers will probably want to cordwrap or add handle scales, which should be easy to do.

It is very illegal in most jurisdictions, since double-edged blades are almost always considered stabbing weapons with no utility function. This is ignorant, since many old skinning knives were double-edged daggers.

The push dagger pattern itself is often listed as illegal in its own right. Too bad. It is a most intuitive weapon. The Com-Tech Stinger is practically a blunt plastic push dagger, so if you get one of them, you can practice push dagger moves, AND protect yourself at the same time. :D
