Hey guys, you may have seen some of my other threads regarding automatics and knives im looking at. I think I am finally set on one knife- the benchmade 2550, I love the blade shape, it has a lock its good quality and lockup is solid.

2 questions, 154 cm steel? i dont know much about it except for its stainless steel, ive heard mixed reviews, tell me what you think of the steel.

If you have or have ever owned the knife, please tell me what you think, any and all thoughts are appreciated, thanks a bunch

154CM is a premium stainless steel. I find it to have the best combination of toughness, rust resistance, and edge holding. I have yet to find another steel, including $30V, that scores as high in all 3 cartagories. I have a 2550 Mini Reflex and it is one very nice folder.

I have the 2550SBK Mini Reflex. I am not really big into autos, but I do like this one. It's a very tough knife that has seen a lot of carry and heavy use over the past few years and it has been problem free. The snap upon opening it is, IMO, as good as it was the day that I got it.

thanks for the help, sounds like good steel and a great knife, cant wait to get

I like the sniper Gray myself.....:D

god those look amazing, i want one so bad, does any one know where i can get a plain edge, black blade? I have found plain edge satin and black blade combo edge but not plain black.

Just a thought--you could post your desire in the WTB (wanted to buy) section of this forum. Somebody must have one to sell, or will likely know where to point you for what you want.
