I was playing with my camera toys today and decided to take these of the Benchmade Adamas. Pretty cool knife still. Quality wise its top notch and one of the best I've seen from Benchmade. Its similar in size to the ZT300 series and maybe the Stider ARs, but I never owned the later. Enjoy the photos.

I've got the black LE edition on order, it should be here mid-week. I'm pretty darned excited. I plan on trying to EDC it, hopefully the thickness/weight doesn't prove to be too much.

I just had 2 of the black LE's to arrive Saturday. These are some very fine knives. My tan combo had been in my pocket since the end of December, but now #448/1000 black 275 Adamas is taking it's place. I remember when the ZT0200 came out and upon getting my first one I was astounded at how good a knife it was for the price, and what a tank of a knife it was/is. The BM 275 Adamas is Benchmades version of this knife! If you are on the fence, just jump off and go order the 275.

Every time I see one of these, I think it's a CRKT. The skeleton scales always do that. How is it in your hand? It looks so... "chunky". Also, how are the thumbstuds? I imagine if I owned one I'd just flick it anyway, but I'm curious.

The Thumbstuds are fine. Despite it's size, it opens smoooth. But you really don't need to use them. With this hefty blade all you have to do is pull back on the Axis Lock and it swings right out.

Yeah, that's why I mentioned that I'd just flick it like my 710 and 806. They just look kinda narrow and tall. I tend to not flip 'em open all the time, depending on where I am.

I was on the fence. I just bought a limited edition. It was just a matted of time. Should be here in a few days.

I like it, but I would like it more with barrel spacers and no gaping holes in the handle.

When you first have the box in your hand it feels likes its going to be heavy and it is heavy relative to many knives. However, there is something about the balance of the knife that feels right. I think its blade heavy. I end flicking it a lot as well.

My LE Black is showing up tomorrow (if the knife gods allow), pretty darned excited. I normally don't go for the whole "tactical" thing, especially with the holes in the handle, but something about this knife just called out to me. I had a bad experience with a knife from another company recently, and I'm hoping this one is going to be my salvation. I just bought and quickly sold a Spyderco PM2 in addition to the other dud knife I got; it just wasn't compatible with me ergonomically.

For the OP (or any other 275 owners), what is the texture of the blade coating?

The reason I ask is that I historically don't like coated blades, many I've tried have a horrible chalkboard texture which gives me the creeps. I don't get freaked out about many things, but chalkboard is one of them. It also causes the cutting resistance to skyrocket in things like cardboard.

It looks to me like it's a fairly smooth coating. My 806 that I got years ago started off with a very pronounced chalkboard texture, which made my teeth hurt when I would think about it too long. This one definitely doesn't look the same.
